Crazy Eights is a classic 2 player card game where you match cards by suit or rank and use 8s as wild cards to change the suit. It’s fast, easy to pick up, and surprisingly strategic once you start paying attention to what your opponent plays.

How to Play Crazy Eights

Each player gets 7 cards. On your turn, play a card that matches the top of the discard pile by suit or rank. No match? Draw from the deck. Eights are wild — drop one anytime and call whatever suit you want. The first player to empty their hand wins the round.

Scoring

The winner scores points from the cards left in the loser’s hand. Number cards are face value, face cards (J, Q, K) are 10 points, Aces are 1, and Eights are worth 50 — so don’t get caught holding one when the round ends.

Tips to Win

Play high-value cards early so they don’t burn you at the end. Save your 8s for when you’re truly stuck — they’re powerful but expensive if the round ends with one in your hand. Watch what suits the AI keeps playing and try to force it into suits it doesn’t have.
